Jazz Guitar Workshop with Adam Moezinia

  • J. Rieck Music 450 South Kiwanis Avenue Sioux Falls, SD, 57104 United States (map)

Join us at J. Rieck Music for an inspiring workshop with acclaimed jazz guitarist Adam Moezinia. Whether you’re just beginning to explore jazz or looking to deepen your understanding, this workshop is designed to give you practical tools you can take straight to your playing.

Adam will cover a range of essential topics including improvisation, soloing, comping, solo guitar approaches, trio playing, and the fundamentals of counterpoint and harmony. Expect a relaxed, interactive format where you’ll not only hear great playing, but also gain insight into how to think musically in real time.

Adam brings a wealth of experience from both the stage and the classroom. A Los Angeles native, he studied at LACHSA before earning a full scholarship to The Juilliard School in New York City. He has performed with artists such as Freddy Cole, Mike LeDonne, Cécile McLorin Salvant, George Coleman, and Kenny Washington, appearing at renowned venues including Jazz at Lincoln Center, The Blue Note, Birdland, and Smoke.

In addition to his work as a sideman, Adam leads the Folk Element Trio, blending jazz tradition with global folk influences from West Africa, the Caribbean, the UK, and Appalachia.

This is a great opportunity to learn from a world-class musician in a welcoming, hands-on environment.

Bring your guitar (acoustic or electric) and come ready to play, learn, and ask questions.

This workshop is sponsored by the Jazz Fellowship Jazz Center.
